Snowscape Escape

Flaky memories of snow-capers past
drift down, settling for a time.

Classroom constraint to curricular clemency
Consummated across a freshly laundered snowscape.

Once-captive children unleash themselves with abandon
Schemes of battlefield strategy, projectile propulsion and downhill speed
Creative minds jubilant in unearned freedom.

Yet the snowscape escape ends – inevitably
Aspirations thaw, fulfilled dreams melt away
The dispassionate mindscape returns.
