welcoming yet offensive
wafts from the strictly non-smoking restaurant
hangs above me
taking shape
an interactive, multisensory thought bubble.

I gaze and inhale deeply
Memories fade into focus
Faces sharpen then vanish
a vague haze in the mist of my mind.
